Jean-Pierre & Michel Auvigue — Pouilly-Fuissé
Jean-Pierre & Michel Auvigue are third generation
proprietors at Le Moulin du Pont. Robert Parker Jr. notes that: “Their
wines…are among the top half-dozen wines produced in the region… they
are favourites at such important restaurants in France as La
Mère Blanc in Vonnas, as well as Lasserre and Maxim's in Paris.”
(Les Vins de Bourgogne et du
Beaujolais).
“[We] specifically recommend the Pouilly-Fuissés of Auvigue, for
those who've given up on the idea that Pouilly-Fuissé could be
special.” (David Lawrason, Wine
Access).
Macon-Solutré 'Naturale' 2007 — We have coveted this wine each year that we taste it in Charney but it's always sold out! This year we were first to order and expect this vintage to show subtle white fruit + flowers, smooth and lush in mouth , very clean and very long.
Pouilly-Fuissé 'Les Chailloux' 2006 — last of an excellent vintage -- coming in full and half-bottles. Two Gold Medals: Vinum Prowein 2206 in Zurich and Concours 2007 in Macon
Macon-Solutré Cuvée Boisée 2006 — An all-time favorite — offering a beguiling and warm nose of white fruits and flowers, a very light hint of oak, lovely fruit and texture in the mouth, a bright finish, and very good length. (JPO, VinExpo 2007)
Pouilly-Fuissé “Cuvée Hors Classe” 2003 — A very rich nose of tropical fruit with toasted notes that follows into mouth with surprisingly vibrant structure, excellent balance and very good to excellent length. (JPO, Pouilly, September 05) “One of the 100 best French Wines” — Le Bottin Gourmand 2005
